Cute collectable characters from the 80’s
The thing is ..that I don’t even know what they are called. I adore them and want more but if you don’t know the name of the product …how do you find them. So if anyone else knows, please let me know. I loved them when I was little, but before I could become a serious collector, they disappeared off the shelves of a local store.
The Golden Rule
Who would have thought that I would stumble upon something so precious. When I saw this book the first time, I thought it look pretty extensive for a small book. So I bought it for under $1. The illustrations alone were worth having. The book is a manual, showing method of self-instruction on cutting out patterns for all types of garments (both outerwear and underwear) in all sizes, for ladies, children and men.’ Includes color illustrations and black and white drawings. The book is hard cover, covered with red fabric inscribed in gold - motif of world on front, with dove and band inscribed ‘THE UNIVERSAL MEASURE’. My copy is an original 1954 first edition. So special.
Fire King
I love Fire King products, they are strong and reliable, and not to mention fantastic for vintage pattern research. My gran always had these in her home. I loved the luster, it was magical to me at the time. Michael had a bit of a giggle when he saw them at first , but he is completely inseparable form them now. They are not as decorative as some of the vintage floral mugs I have seen some friends blog about, but they have a magnificent luster and a lovely orange vintage glaze. I received another bunch from my aunt, brand new. I wont be using them for a while.
